On the 13th of September the Lyttelton team and Eastside team got together for some fun games and social time afterwards. It was an exciting and tough competition, with the teams going to a tie-breaker after winning one game each. Everyone played amazingly, but in the end, the Eastside team walked away with the trophy! Congratulations!!
On 9th August Canterbury Catchball took The Garage Sale Op Shop in Lyttelton. The weather was not the best but some customers showed up and the players from both teams running the op Shop had the opportunity to mingle and get to know each other better. All the profits will be directed to buy material to grow the sport and support our teams.
There is a pool of around 60 players divided into several teams and locations, and they run a seasonal league.
Over the first weekend of August, the Canterbury Catchball crew headed up to sunny Nelson to watch their incredible league finals and take part in a dynamic skills workshop with Hadar Chechik, an experienced catchball coach and the president of the Australian Catchball Federation.
It was an action-packed couple of days filled with team spirit, new skills, and lots of laughs. The passion and energy from the Nelson players were contagious — and we’re buzzing to bring that same fire back home to Canterbury!
Canterbury Catchball recently hosted a fantastic Barn Dance in Lyttelton — led by the wonderful Bill Baritompa and brought to life by the talented Entrada Duo.
It was an unforgettable afternoon full of laughs, music, and great dance moves — bringing together our Catchball community, friends, and whānau for a good ol’ boogie.
